Generate Differentiated Activities

Savvas Studio lets you generate differentiated learning plans to help you save time without sacrificing quality. Follow the steps below to begin generating differentiated activities in Savvas Studio:

  1. Select Differentiation Assistant in the Savvas Studio Welcome page.

  2. The left panel contains customization options to configure your query to create the exact kind of differentiated activities that you want. At any time, select Clear to clear the left panel of your chosen options.

  3. Under Generate an activity for: select the Standard or Math skill or concept for which you want to create a differentiated activity.

  4. If you selected Standard, select the + Add a standard button. In the pop-up window, select the program from which you'd like to choose the standard, then choose the grade level and standard from their dropdown menus. Once finished, select Add a standard, or select Cancel to return to the differentiation assistant without choosing a standard.

  5. If in step 3 you chose Math skill or concept, enter your chosen math skill or math concept in the Math skill or concept box. Then, select your chosen grade level from the Grade level dropdown menu.

  6. Under Type of Differentiation, select the dropdown menu and choose either Difficulty, Modality, or Method of Understanding.

    • Difficulty: Presents three activities in three levels of difficulty to match the students’ proficiency.

    • Modality: Presents different activities through different formats, such as visual, auditory, or hands-on, to align with students’ learning preferences.

    • Method of Understanding: Offers multiple ways for students to demonstrate their grasp of a concept via one single activity, such as explaining it in their own words, creating a diagram, or applying it in a real-world scenario.

  7. In the Learner profiles category, select the Type of instruction dropdown menu. Choose either Whole class or Small group.

  8. In the optional Add a theme field, enter a theme for the activities. Select the i button to get more detailed information.

  9. In the optional Custom Instructions field, enter any additional instructions to include as part of the query. This is then reflected in the generated activities. Select the i button to get more detailed information.

The AI may not always fully implement your inputted theme and custom instructions.

  10. Once you're satisfied with the information you've entered, select Generate activities. Savvas Studio then generates activities for you using the information you provided.

  11. Select an activity that you're most interested in to see the full activity. If an activity is accurate and fits your needs, then select Save as PDF to save the activity. If the activity need to be adjusted or changed, select the Edit content button. In the pop-up window, you can edit the content and formatting for the activity.

  12. At the end of each activity, you can find Savvas-suggested resources. Selecting a resource opens it, allowing you to save it locally.

  13. Optionally, rate the generated activity and leave feedback so that Savvas can continue to improve our AI.
