Growth by Grade
This summary displays an overview of students' performance on the diagnostic assessments for a specific grade over time.
You can also use a sub-section filter to view more specific data expressed in these charts. Using the Viewing sub-section filter, you can choose the grade level you'd like to see depicted in charts.
In accordance with the intended use of diagnostic assessments, these visualizations report only on the first submission of a diagnostic per grade per student at the Beginning of Year (BOY), Middle of Year (MOY) and End of Year (EOY) for the school year. To access data from subsequent submissions, you can use the Momentum Diagnostic Assessment Details report.
Summary Charts
-
Program Growth Overview: This visualization displays the growth in total average score for the diagnostic assessments over time. Select the data points on the line graph to open the Student Details report to show the student-level data for the students who contributed to that data point. Use the chart to view the total number of students who submitted BOY, MOY and EOY assessments, as well as their performance level within the scale score range. Select the segments of the bars to open the Student Details report to show the student-level data for the students in that segment.
A tab called Performance Breakdown appears for the following chart, Growth by Domains. The Performance Breakdown tab lets you switch between the summary view and a view that lets you see how performance is distributed across the population.
-
Growth by Domains: Review the growth of student performance in each domain over time. This visualization also displays the average scale score of each assessment by domain. Use the Performance Breakdown tab to understand domain-level growth distribution and the concentration of students reaching target performance levels. The performance bands, denoted by color, illustrate whether students are not meeting, below, approaching, or above the Meets range.
When toggling between tabs, your existing filters and context are preserved.
Administrators with access to Momentum Diagnostic Assessments enhanced with Quantile or Lexile® measures can use the Measurement option in the filter area at the top of the summary to view the results in Quantile or Lexile measures rather than Momentum scale scores. When viewing results in Quantile or Lexile measures, Momentum performance bands are replaced by the national percentile rank indicated by the Quantile or Lexile measure.
There are no Quantile or Lexile measure equivalents for domain-level scale scores, and therefore, domain-level visualizations are removed from the summary when viewing Quantile or Lexile measures.
