Student User Name and Password Requirements

When you add a student to a class or reset a student password, you must follow these user name and password requirements.

Requirements

Student name — Enter the student's last name first, then the student's first name.
Username — User names can be simple.
- Must be unique
- Must be at least 8 characters but not more than 75.
- You can use letters, numbers, underscores, periods, blank spaces, and the @ symbol.
- User names are not case-sensitive.
Password — Passwords must be more complex for security.
- Must be at least 8 characters.
- Must contain at least one letter and one number or special character.
- Must not contain spaces.
- Passwords are case-sensitive
- Do not make a password similar to a student's first name, last name or username

For privacy, you can select the Hide password text box if you want to have asterisks replace the characters you are entering for the password.
